Technical Education
Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) in Punjab oversees a significant number of institutes called Government College of Technology. These institutes offer programs primarily 4-year Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (BSc. Engineering Technology) degrees and 3-year Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) programs.
There are more than 40 Government Colleges of Technology (separate for Boys & girls) administered by TEVTA Punjab. These colleges are offering advanced degree and diploma programs that cater to the needs of industry for skilled professionals at different levels of responsibility and expertise.
BSc. Engineering Technology, 4-year degree programs aimed at producing graduates who work as technologists in managerial roles within the industry that involve a higher level of technical expertise and responsibility.
Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE), 3-year Diploma program available in 32 different disciplines. The DAE programs are designed to prepare students for hands-on technical roles with some level of supervisory responsibility. DAE graduates typically work as technicians at the supervisor level in various industries
List of technical CollegesVocational Training
TEVTA Punjab administers various institutes under the vocational stream, aimed at providing practical skills and training to students. The Vocational institutes have been categorized as:
Govt Technical Training Institutes (GTTIs) mainly offers courses of 12 months (G-III level) and 24 months (G-II level).
Govt. Vocational Training Institutes (GVTIs) are exclusively established for girls. GVTIs offer courses of varying durations: 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, and 24 months, specifically tailored to girls.
Govt Technical Training Centers (GTTCs) offers courses of shorter duration ranging from 3 months and 6 months. As a special cases GTTCs have also been established in different district jails of Punjab.
The Apprenticeship Training Institutes (ATCs) are primarily for train of apprentices recruited in industry. These institutes also offers courses of G-III and G-II levels.
Trainees from these vocational institutes are termed as Skilled Workers. They are equipped with practical skills and typically work at the operational level in various industries.

TEVTA Punjab service centers train students in specialized industrial skills as well as act as pivotal support hubs for local industries. By offering advanced techniques, advisory services, and common facilities, they aim to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of businesses within their respective industrial clusters.
Service centers aim to simulate factory environments to train students in customized areas such as leather processing, cutlery, surgical items, sports items, hosiery items, woodwork, ceramics, metal, textile, and agriculture.
Service Centers are demonstrating the idea of industrial incubation through its Common Facility Services by providing widest range of infrastructural support to the Industry. They also facilitate SMEs to perform advance and precise industrial processes on their products through their cutting-edge technology.
Service Centers provide technical assistance & solutions to the existing business enterprises for enhancing their services & production to next higher level as per best international practices.
