TEVTA, Chinese Delegation Discuss Collaboration for Environment Training Program

A delegation from Lanzhou Resource and Environment Vocational and Technical University, China, comprising Mr. Zhang Min (Dean), Mr. Gou Zhiwen (Teacher), and Ms. Wei Jia (International Exchange Officer), along with members of TANG International Education Group, including Ms. Liu Ying (Business Centre Executive Vice President, China) and Mr. Song Jianying (CEO, Pakistan), visited the TEVTA Secretariat to hold initial discussions on collaboration in the field of environment-related training.

The meeting was chaired by Chairman TEVTA Brig. Muhammad Sajid Khokhar SI(M), Retd., and was attended by Mr. Muhammad Majid Iqbal (Chief Operating Officer), Director Generals from TEVTA, Mr. Aleem Ul Hassan (Director, Pakistan Meteorological Department), and Mr. Zaheer Jaffar (Director, Provincial Disaster Management Authority).

During the meeting, it was proposed that a joint training center would be established, along with a dual diploma programme comprising one year of training in Pakistan, one year in China, and a one-year internship with Chinese organizations.

Chairman TEVTA said that relevant departments, including Environment, Agriculture, the Meteorological Department, and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, would be consulted to determine the level and type of training required, after which the Chinese counterparts would be informed accordingly. He expressed keen interest in advancing this initiative, noting that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif had also emphasized the importance of working in this field during her visit to China. TEVTA remains committed to launching the initiative and would first consult with all relevant stakeholders
