Certificates and Driving Licenses Distribution Ceremony

Lahore October 10, 2017: Chairman TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Rai Ejaz, Chief Operating Officer TEVTA Nasir Iqbal, officials of both organization and students were present on occasion. At the ceremony, certificates and Driving License were distributed among the participants of two month driving course of LTV, HTV and Car, Motorcycle training which held at four colleges of TEVTA.
While addressing on occasion, Chairman TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that this course will provide job oppurtinities to graduates however, it will also benefit females who will be independent after passing this course. He added that after this course more trained female drivers will be on road who will be independent while going to their offices, universities or other places. He also told the audience that TEVTA has allocated 50 percent quota for females in this course.
Chairman further said that male pass outs will be able to get job of Rs.25,000 to Rs.30,000 per month as international companies like Careem, Uber, Albayrak, Daewoo and others are already demanding TEVTA for trained drivers. He also informed that internationally there is huge demand of LTV and HTV drivers. Irfan further said that developed countries like Canada has achieved development after focusing on vocational and technical training.
CTO Rai Ejaz was of the view that after completing this program, trained drivers will be on roads which would not only decrease the accident ratio but it would also cater the traffic issues in city. He added that Chairman TEVTA Irfan Qaiser’s efforts in start of this course are commendable.



TEVTA wishes to extend collaboration with US in English Language, Livestock and Agriculture

Lahore August 30, 2017: Chairman Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Irfan Qaiser Sheikh wanted to extend the collaboration with United States (US) in the fields of livestock, agriculture and English Language teaching.
He was briefing US Consul General Lahore Elazabeth Kennedy Trudeau here on Wednesday at TEVTA Secretariat. Political and Economic Section Chief US Consul General Ann L Mason and other TEVTA officials were also present on occasion.
Irfan Qaiser Sheikh further explained that TEVTA needed expertise, master trainers from US besides we wanted training opportunities for our students in US industries. He vowed that TEVTA wanted to start English Language Course in collaboration with US for 1000 students therefore US Consul General Lahore’s support is require in this regard. In beginning as this would benefit youth of Punjab who are real power of the country, he said adding that number of students for English Language Course will be increased in upcoming years.
He further said that youth are future builders of our country therefore there is dire need to empower them through teaching them foreign languages which would benefit them. He told that TEVTA’s Chinese Language course is already running successfully and in previous month Turkish organization also shown interest to start Turkish Language Course with TEVTA.
He added that TEVTA has increased the number of apprenticeship for its students from 3000 to 71,000. In next four years these numbers will be increased up to 200,000, he said adding that at apprenticeship a student is provided up to Rs. 7000 besides training at the industry which later on offer him job.
Irfan went on saying that TEVTA has also Pakistan’s only Blue Pottery Institute in Multan. He further informed US Consul General that TEVTA is already working in collaboration with Japan and Turkey in several fields.
US Consul General Elezabeth Kennedy observed that US is also interested in working with TEVTA as working in this field with Pakistan will strengthen Pak-US relations. She added that US will also work with Turkish, Japanese and German organizations in Pakistan as this would increase the quality.
US Consul General also appreciated the increase in the number of apprenticeship by TEVTA by saying that its working under a perfect plan. She further visited Cooking classes and talked to the students. She also admired the bakery items made by the students.

Vice President Asian Development Bank (ADB) Wencai Zang calls upon Chairman TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh

Lahore July 06, 2017: Chairman Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Irfan Qaiser Sheikh has said that if Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide a loan of Rs 50 to 70 million dollar on easy conditions, it will provide interest free loan to its shining graduates so that they can start their own business besides, all TEVTA institutes will also be converted on Solar Energy Technology.
The five member delegation of ADB visited the TEVTA secretariat and institute. The delegation visited the class rooms of Chinese Language, IT, mobile repairing, hospitality and others. The delegation comprised of Advisor to Vice President ADB Chen Chen, Country Director PRM Zaihong Yang, Principal Education Specialist Norman LaRocque, economist Farzana Noshab and Social Sector Specialist Munir Abro.
Later, while briefing the media, Irfan Qaiser sheikh was of the view that World Bank also provided 50 million dollar loan to TEVTA. We had provided skills to more than 200,000 students in year, now there is need to empower them by providing interest free loan, he added. He further told the media persons that mark up on the loan will be bear by TEVTA.
He further informed the ADB Vice President that TEVTA’s focus is short courses because a six month course can provide reasonable earning to both male and female students. He added that TEVTA has hired international master trainers in order to increase the quality of education.
Irfan Qaiser further explained that TEVTA is offering latest and updated courses for the students and will continue to add more courses in context of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). These courses included Chinese Language, Hospitality Management, Construction, Industry, Automobile, IT, Security, Beautician, Financial Market and many other which area attracting thousands of students, he said. He told that in order to provide access to international market for its students, TEVTA had also started several courses in collaboration with several multinational organizations.

TEVTA providing international opportunities to Pakistani youth; Chairperson TEVTA

Lahore April 25, 2017: Master trainers of Sri Lanka called upon Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh here on Tuesday at TEVTA Secretariat.
While talking to the trainers, Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh observed that TEVTA is working for making quality of training courses better as international master trainers will provide international level education to Pakistani youth. He further said that students will also be able to obtain international opportunities. He said that TEVTA will bear the bearing all living expenditures of these trainers as well paying them for training youth.
Irfan was of the view that like Sri Lanka, TEVTA is also working for provision of master trainers from other countries like China and Japan which will increase the capability of students.
15 Masters Trainers of Sri Lanka were arrived in Pakistan to train 1400 students in courses of Food Preparation and Cooking (Pastry) and Food Preparation and Cooking (Culinary). The six month courses are being offered at 9 TEVTA institutions in four districts of Punjab including Lahore Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan.
Sri Lankan Trainers said that they are pleased to be in Pakistan. They said that Sri Lanka’s chef industry is one of the best in Asia and we would be pleased if our services will Pakistani youth to learn international standard training in foods and culinary. We will deliver our best, they said.



Station Commander (Navy) Lahore has called upon Chairperson TEVTA

Lahore April 19, 2017: Station Commander (Navy) Lahore S M Shahzad has called upon Chairperson Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Irfan Qaiser Sheikh here on Wednesday at TEVTA Secretariat.
Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh offered Pakistan Navy for a joint venture on provision of technical training on different courses in which Pakistan Navy has expertise. He said that by this joint venture or partnership, Pakistan Navy will be able provide master trainers at already existing TEVTA institutions where courses like laser cutting, motor winding, ship braking, auto mechanic and refrigeration will be offered.
The agreement will be signed after the approval of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif in upcoming week, he further explained.
Chairperson said that TEVTA is already working with Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in Murree where the facilities were provided by PAF. Pakistan Navy’s trainers will add value to the TEVTA’s training courses where Navy’s master trainers will supervise the training as well as provide curricula for these courses, he added. Irfan said that by this joint venture students will be able to get quality training and education.
Station Commander Navy Lahore S M Shahzad observed that technical education is necessary for changing fate of Pakistan and TEVTA’s role is very crucial in this regard. Pakistan Navy has expertise in technical training especially in the field of cooking, ship braking and auto mechanic, he said.



JICA Chief visited TEVTA Secretariat

Lahore April 17, 2017: Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Chief Mr. Yasuhiro TOJO Visited TEVTA Secretariat to sign an agreement with Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh Mr. TOJO agreed to provide 105 Million Rupees to Technology College Faisalabad. Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh wishes to Launch Training Courses on the same footing as in japan for Technical and Vocation Training. He further expresses to initiate on job Training Courses for TEVTA Graduate. Chairperson appreciated the corporation being extended to TEVTA by JICA and desired to initiate further state of the art courses for TEAVTA and requested JICA Chief to provide TEVTA with Master trainers to supervise the Courses. The expenses for master trainers will be borne by Punjab Government. Mr Irfan Qaiser Sheikh wishes to further strengthen the bond between JICA and TEVTA. He Edit that it his desire to have an exchange programs were TEVTA Graduate can go to Japan for training and be a part of their industry.



Punjab Minister for Industries, Secretary Industries and Chinese delegation visited TEVTA Secretariat

Lahore April 13, 2017: Punjab Minister for Industries Ch. Sheikh Alauddin, along with Secretary Industries and Chinese delegation visited TEVTA Secretariat and met Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh. TEVTA chief briefed them about ongoing projects and courses. Further the delegation was appraised that four thousand students will be inducted in Chinese language classes this year. Currently, nine thousand students are learning Chinese language and the strength would be increased to 16000. Chairperson told the delegation that TEVTA is specially concentrating on information technology, trade, hospitality, construction and textile courses. Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that skilled development courses are the top priority of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and TEVTA is acting on his directions in true letter and spirit. During the meeting Chinese delegation led by Vice President of TianJin Peoples Association for Friendship with Countries Mr. Chen Weiming offered Chairman that they will accommodate four thousand students of Tevta with different courses in China. Irfan Qaiser Sheikh thanked him while saying that it shows the trust on TEVTA. Representatives of Chinese Consulate were also present in the meeting. Later on, the delegation along with Chairman TEVTA visited Chinese language classes and met students. The delegation communicated with the students in Chinese and highly appreciated their fluency in language within such a short span of time.



Chairperson TEVTA meeting with Chief Traffic Officer Lahore

Lahore April 12, 2017: On direction of CM Punjab Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh met Chief Traffic Officer Rai Ijaz to launch a driving course under supervision of traffic police Lahore with-in major training institutes of TEVTA. Earlier, TEVTA has been conducting such courses in collaboration with national highways and motorways police and trained five thousands drivers. As an output trained drivers were accommodated by transport companies like Careem and Uber. Chairperson TEVTA wishes to launch state of the art driving course with the assistant of city traffic police Lahore. It was discussed in the meeting to start driving courses at five training institute of TEVTA. Two courses shall begin from May including and short courses of LTV and three to six month long course from HTV. CTO briefed the chairperson that the incentive of such courses would be issuance of license right after induction in driving course. This would serve as an impetus for our untrained drivers and deliver to improve traffic problems and road safety concerns of the public.



Representatives of JICA visited TEVTA Secretariat

Lahore April 11, 2017: Representatives of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) visited TEVTA Secretariat and held detailed meeting with Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh. They also had exchange of views and discussion on ongoing and future plans of cooperation. Worthy Chairperson thanked JICA for their continuous cooperation and being the only organization that has particularly delivered to the TVET sector of Pakistan. Chairperson further discussed the centre of excellence being raised in Faisalabad by TEVTA at the cost of six million dollars. JICA has also announced to upgrade twelve existing labs of TEVTA for a cost of five to six million dollars. Chairperson further appreciated the gift courses being offered at Govt. College of Technology with collaboration of JICA. CM Punjab has appraised about the collaboration progress and satisfaction was expressed. It was further wished that JICA should assist TEVTA to launch auto-mobile courses.
